INNORULES (CEO Kim Kil-Kon) announced on the 22nd that it would supply a product factory system based on its business rule engine(BRE), 'InnoRules', to MetLife's next-generation system construction project.
Product Factory is a system that supports easy and quick product development by making each component for product composition in advance and assembling the necessary components whenever product development is needed.
The company explained, "INNORULES' product factory system, a BRE-based system, provides a flexible and efficient product rule management model that can accommodate a variety of insurance products." and that "the biggest advantage for using its product factory is that it enables companies to respond quickly and flexibly to sudden changes of business rule."
The next-generation system for MetLife is being built by Samsung SDS and is expected to be completed in July 2009.
INNORULES' product factory has been applied to Mirae Asset Life Insurance's next-generation system and DB Life Insurance's on-site support system. It is also being applied to Shinhan Life Insurance and Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance's next-generation system.
"Product factory plays a significant role in reflecting insurance products planned by the business department in the IT system," said Kim Kil-Kon, president of INNORULES. "Based on our experience in building insurance companies' product factory, we plan to supply it to other financial institutions such as securities firms, capital firms, credit card companies, and banks."
